Hi! I'm a current divinity student at Princeton Theological Seminary and am excited to be going on this delegation to Iraqi Kurdistan with Christian Peacemaker Teams. On this delegation, which will take place from May 17-31, 2016, I will travel to Iraqi Kurdistan to support and be in solidarity with our sisters and brothers there. Our team will also learn from them and learn about the current and historical context in Iraqi Kurdistan and how people are working for peace there despite the violence that is so often associated with the region.
I am excited to be going on this delegation because I believe wholeheartedly that cross-cultural relationships and peacemaking efforts are an essential part of ministry. I hope to incorporate all I learn into my ministry and daily practice of living. In addition to Iraqi Kurdistan, our team will also travel to the Presbyterian Church (USA) 222nd General Assembly in Portland, OR in late June to share our experiences with the wider church and to advocate for peace issues, sharing what we have learned from our sisters and brothers in Iraqi Kurdistan.
